you all know i had a minor crash yesterday...the scooter was laid down on the left side (air filter side) for about 5 seconds.

so today i went to start it and noticed the air filter bubble was completely filled with oil. as the engine was running i pulled off the bubble and oil came pouring out...maybe a few ounces...enough to worry me. so i stopped the engine and came here to post this.

do you think it's from tipping the scooter yesterday? i couldn't find anything disconnected..and the oil light didn't come on. should i just top up the oil and let it run for a while?

also, any suggestions for covering/fixing a minor 1 inch scratch that's already starting to rust? i just want to stop the rust from getting worse.

Where is the scratch? Factory touch-up paint has done well for me.

It's from dropping it over, no bid deal. Take out your air filter, and squeeze the oil out of it. The bottom inch or so will be saturated. After I took my spill, I took several layers(lots really) of folded paper towels, and wrapped the filter and stepped on it to get out the oil. Newspapers would probably do the same job. Squeeze as much oil as you can get out of it and put it back in. Check your oil level, mine was down about a 1/2 pint after my spill.

the scratch is just above the left running light on the leg shield...right where the silver piping is.

no one knows about the oil problem?
