I see a lot of orange cars out there -- minis, subarus, etc. Does anyone know if there is a good match for an orange touch up paint that is pretty close to the Stella Orange? I'm not looking to make a showpiece, just cover up the places where there isn't paint when the PO dumped it.

I know about Scooterpaint, but I'm hoping for a single stage paint that is close enough for the 10/10 inspection (10 feet away or for 10 seconds).

I seem to recall that there is a single stage paint that worked. It was a 60s or 70s station wagon color, I think. Do a search on the old website Stella speed.

Sadly that site is dead and gone as far as I know. I keep trying but to no avail.

Well that sucks. I know the answer is out there. Let me check my notes, I may be able to find the info.

$38 too much?
Tangerine Stella touch up paint.

Otherwise, you can dig around teh Interwebs. The code was STG24 Tangerine.

I broke down and bought the amazon kit. It will work for my main objective which is to cover up the missing paint on the front fender. I'm still interested in the rattle-can option, but I want to get the bare metal covered before winter muck sets in.

Tierney, If you can dig up that paint info that would be great. I did buy the tangerine orange kit but its not the same color. I contacted Colorite and they told me to try using a grey primer base coat, but it seems a bit much to me to purchase a paint match kit for $40 that doesn't come with the correct base coat in the kit.

The paint did cover up the bare metal however, so that's good.

I have not found the info so far, but I will pass along a tip I learned awhile ago. Go to a store that sells fingernail paint, and I bet you find something really close. I used this method to touch up some midnight blue on a GT200. I'm pretty sure I learned this from Voodoo on here. Smart guy.

Here's your problem-

There are actually two different oranges used on Stella scooters. an early, and a late.

the early was matched to a 1970's Vespa orange.
