got my hands on a barely used faco midsize tinted windscreen..

will i experience performs gains from it ?

I have a Faco mid-height on my GTS. I can't speak to specific performance gains, but it should give you a mph or 2 at the top end due to decreased drag. Definitely a comfort increase without the wind pushing on your torso. I found the screen alone directed more noise (not buffeting) to my helmet. Adding a Laminar Lip to the top of the screen solved that issue.

Before the final install, I tested the Laminar Lip at varying heights - a small increase makes a significant difference in the wind-flow/noise.

Went to their website and under "Vespa," they just have a universal Flyscreen (all years).

Which Laminar Lip did you get to fit your FACO? I have the twin-shield, but am pretty tall. You're so right about the difference in wind on the torso, but I'd like to see if I can take a bit more off of my head.

Any more details on your Laminar Lip purchase/install/testing would be great.

how much faster is the xmax?

Significantly. Not to hijack your thread, but it feels more "sportbike" where my GTS feels more "scooter." Both are good, just different execution on what a scooter should be. The Xmax feels larger in every dimension. You really notice how close you are to the windscreen on the Vespa after riding the Xmax.

I like mine, she likes hers - win/win.

I contacted the folks at Laminar Lip, since their website states these are made for "stock windshields only"... and the Faco certainly isn't stock. I would confirm with them, but as I recall, it was the Lip for the BMW "B1246C LIP for R850GS-R1150GS Std. Adv. Givi, Clear". For the $89 plus shipping, you could just about buy a different windscreen, but I liked everything about the Faco except the noise at helmet level. A significant difference with the Laminar Lip in place.

I get some airflow at helmet top level - enough to give me plenty of ventilation with my Nolan helmet, and no back pressure behind the helmet.
