I truly enjoyed his style of drumming, he was an innovator at the time and only made Cream better. 80 years old, so not a bad run.

Considering that he's said to have quit heroin 29 times, yeah.

Yet, made it to 80??? Must have been using organic heroin.

There is a good documentary called Beware of Mr. Baker. I also discovered Fela Kuta.

I believe that at the beginning of the documentary a drink addled Ginger punches the host in the face.

not sure that "peace" is something that will ever be associated with him,but i hope he has now found it.
He was a good drummer,but too violent at any opportunity.

He spent much of his later years in South Africa, in the Western Cape and Natal.
He was heavily into polo.

And verbal and physical abuse it seems.

Actually he poked him with his walking stick. Interviewer was being a bit provocative knowing Ginger's family temper. Should have known better.


Another adage along with "Never apologise" is "Never speak ill of the dead"

Yeah I'll take that on the chin but I do think there's a difference between an drug addled aggressive bully and me.

Celebrating the passing of someone so unpleasant seems a bit strange to me but I guess it's just a matter of perspective.

Anyone want to take bets on whose next ?

Everyone has their demons and he just wore his for the world to see,

You have to also understand the documentary is an entertainment piece and that bit at the end was probably set up to make it more inflammatory.
That way this piece would get more views, imagine if it was boring as hell the piece would not have many views.
They used his reputation to gather an audience.

I know that we like to laud these talented types while forgetting just how nasty they were but I choose not to.
