Can anyone tell me how I can know whether my LX50 is 2T or 4T?

I know the VIN and engine number - how would I go about looking up the specs?

Where do you put the oil in?

This applies to most any small engine:

2-stroke engines either use pre-mixed oil and fuel, or there's a separate reservoir, perhaps near the fuel filler, where you add 2-stroke oil.

4-stroke engines have the oil in the crankcase (lower part of the engine). There's a filler cap with a dipstick attached where you add 4-stroke oil.

If you're in the US or Canada it's a 4T.

On the CVT side is there a black dip stick? If yes its a 4T.

I believe if you open the seat and you see two fill caps, it's a 2T. If only one fill cap. it's a 4T.

You can probably tell just from the user manuals which one is yours.
