Sorry to be stupid, but I don't get the instructions on posting photos: Crying or Very sad emoticon

Can I post Images?
Images can indeed be shown in your posts. However, there is no facility at present for uploading images directly to this board. Therefore you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.some-unknown-place.net/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor to images stored behind authentication mechanisms such as Hotmail or Yahoo mailboxes, password-protected sites, etc. To display the image use either the BBCode [img] tag or appropriate HTML (if allowed).

Can someone post step-by-step instructions on including a photo in a post? Thanks!

I am going to post a photo in this reply and talk us through it. However, it is a photo from my computer files, not from somewhere that I need tags and stuff to download. (I don't understand that, either.) Here goes:

Scroll down to the Add an Attachment section. Click the Browse button. Select the photo from your list and click it. Then click the Add Attachment button. Then, if desired, scroll down to Posted Attachments. Click Preview to check your photo. If all is OK, click Submit and you are finished.

You will have to save the photo locally to your computer then add it as an attachment to your post.

that particular weebsite does not allow what is called "hot linking" of images.

Sure it does! Click on the Img button, copy the web address, and then preview your picture. It should link properly.

What i understood from his post was his site where he had his photos was preventing hot linking. I know MV allows you to link to photos on the net.

Try to link to a site like Shutterfly and I think it will be prevented by Shutterfly.

Cool, that threw me off also. Now I need to take some pics and post them!

But why does the pic appear at the bottom and not in the body of the message?
Same as mine, but not mine.

Until then is there a way to delete current uploaded photos?

I have received the same error message regarding a 1 meg limit. I don't think I've posted more then 3 photos and they certainly don't amount to 1 meg.

Any ideas?

Try this. Click on your name to the left of your post. You will be taken to your profile page. At the bottom is a link to "user attachment control panel" or something similar. Click on it and you should be able to see the photos that you posted. You can delete from there.

I don't know why, but if you access your profile using the links at the top of the forum page, you don't see the "user attachment control panel" option.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tip. Your directions worked perfectly.

I guess I had posted a few more pictures then I let on. I deleted a few and I'm now back in business.

Yep... definitely NSR but, like I said, it was a random addition.

(P.S. I have the original one sitting here on my desk... it's a bit bulky but quite a conversation piece! )

Another "dumb" question. How do you make the pictures smaller. I get the exceeded 150Kb error message.

TIA
