Modern Vespa

I was going to have Scooter Mercato in US order me a bgm ultra strong clutch for 22t/68 primary with cr80 plates, but waited a few months. Just now when I was ready to order, scooter center who appears to be the only place to buy bgm says these are out of stock online. Dave at scooter Mercato emailed them to see if they are discontinued or waiting for more stock. If they will replenish stock, I am ordering it through scooter Mercato as the shipping will be cheaper for me from Georgia to NYC. Waiting to hear back from him.

But in the meantime, I figured I'd work on a backup plan. If they are discontinued, was hoping someone in uk's local shop might have one of these in stock that I could purchase directly or through a user and get shipped to NYC?

This one was the original, the other one I posted previously bgm8422 is listed as v2.0. my hope is the v2.0 version is new and hasn't shipped from factory to scooter center yet.

First of, BGM is SCK's in-house brand, so that's the reason you won't find their stuff on e.g. SIP. Clutch is not discontinued. It's just their new revision with a bunch of holes for better lubrication (they always have a stock problem on new products). FMP says though, that the holes are in the wrong place and the oil basically escapes the plates (he tested the new clutch). If you're in a hurry, you can go for the normal version, buy a set of CR plates and the reinforced circlip to put in...

Good idea. Does the standard non cr80 clutch require modification to for cr80 plates or is it manufactured to work with both our of the box?

Scratch that. You need 108mm CR plates and I see that they don't sell them anymore. So, no the plates won't go in as they are. I guess they want to push people in buying their stuff and not upgrade their clutches. You have the option for the SIP CR plates though...

I got an email from Scooter-Center about a week ago saying that the Superstrong clutches were back in stock. So I imagine Dave could now get one for you.

Ginch, they are in stock for almost all gearing except my 22t gearing!

I keep checking every few days though so when they are in stock I will try to get scooter Mercato to order it.
