I just pulled the trigger on a Portofino green GTV. I'll take delivery in Newport, RI on 10/5. A great upgrade from my LX 50!

I'll post pics after I get it.

It is the most beautiful scooter available. Too bad it's not available with a manual transmission.

Surely you must be more than a little tempted now you've passed?

Maybe it's safer for you to stay away from Vespa dealers if you've got your credit card in your pocket - I only went in for a look and picked up my GTS 2 hours later!

You are gonna love it! I just finished a 12 day west coast tour on mine, 2000 miles and 2 rallies in 12 days. Take your first ride over the Mt. Hope bridge in Rhode Island and celebrate.

I put a black Givi topcase on mine and it is truly ugly. Like watching a beautiful lady light up a cigarette. Get a brown fabric one or spring for the matching Vespa topcase.

Great choice. 7 weeks and 725 miles later. I'm a happy man. The green gets a lot of compliments from bystanders so be prepared.

Probably won't get to the Mt. Hope bridge, but you never know! It's a beautiful bridge though. I'm going to ride it home to CT, so I'll be over the Jamestown and Newport bridges though. It will be interesting going 65mph on Rt. 2 into Hartford on a scooter. Certainly a big change from any motorcycle I've ever had and the LX 50 now that I on;y use around Newport.

For I top case, I have the Vespa top case on my LX 50 and love it but I want to preserve the vintage look of the GTV. I ordered this case today: http://www.scooterwest.com/item_detail/SX-appeal-Canvas-Top-Case-TAN/1375/

I can use it when I need it and take ot off when I don't. A bargain at $129.

Now if I can just fine a way to tell my wife what I did...
