When: Sunday, October 7th, 2007
Where: Yolo County Fairgrounds, Woodland, CA

Join thousands of riders, coast to coast, for the Ride 4 Kids. After talking about the Pleasanton event in June on this forum, I hope you're familiar with the event and where your donations will be spent. If not, check out these two websites: www.ride4kids.org and www.pbtfus.org.

There are two ways you can support this very worthy event:

First, you can ride directly to the designated start-pont for the ride and do the registration before it starts. The ride will begin at 10:00 a.m..

Second, you can setup your own ride to the venue. Maybe the Royal Bastards could organize a ride down to Woodland from Sacramento. Perhaps Curt could get a group together from the Vacaville area or Jess could setup another group ride from the Eastbay. Hey SFSG's, the "Curve Unit", a women's sportbike club has won the Club Participation award at the last 2 events. Maybe you can get a bunch of your gals together, and show them scooter power!

However you choose to get there, just get there and make a $35 donation to a cause that will literally save the lives of children and teenagers cursed with a brain tumor. The Woodland ride last year was the ride that moved me to become a TaskForce Leader for the Pleasanton Ride 4 Kids and a supporter for this very worthy event. AND this may be the last organized event before the weather goes South for the Winter. Because my daughter is getting married that weekend, my wife and I won't be making the ride, BUT we'll be there for the Pleasanton, CA event on June 29, 2008.

FYI: Registration begins at 07:30 a.m.. and continues right up to 10:00 a.m., which is the departure time, for the police escorted parade. There will be coffee, pastries and juice provided in the morning. The rides will last about 1½ hrs. and will cover about 65 miles total. After the ride, there'll be bag lunches, soft drinks and water provided. After lunch, the program will begin, where you'll learn about pediatric brain tumors from the experts and young survivors, but more importantly you'll learn what's being done to cure and treat this horrible affliction.
