Since I'm completely new to scooters (although not the motoring enthusiast scene), here's a couple of basic, sure to cause eye-rolls, questions:

1. What month does Vespa change over to the next model year?

2. Are discounts common on both current model and soon-to-be-last-year's stock? If so, any idea of what I should shoot for re a GTS? I'm in the NE USA (CT to be exact), if price by location is a factor.

Thanks!

no specific time for model year change. we got some 2007 models in july of last year and we're still getting 2007 models, i haven't seen any 2008 models yet.

price depends on good ole supply and demand or even inventory age. if you're in a hot scooter market don't expect any discounts. we almost completely sold out of most of our inventory last month, so everything is pretty much at msrp or close to it.

the free extended warranty program is pretty nice right now. stay away from the six month $0 payment/interest unless you can absolutely pay it off in six months.

This time of year and into spring, in Canada at least, you can find find bargains. I saved about $1000.00 CDN on my new '06 GTS last June. There are some smokin' deals at Hillman Scooters in Vancouver, BC! I'm really trying hard not to buy a BV500.
