With the East Coast Workshop fast approaching, I ordered some LED's for my scoot. I was wondering if anyone else has them and where they have installed them. Pictures would be most helpful!!
Thanks for your help!

I've got the brake light LED's for the GTS and GTV mounted underneath the top case. Seem to work pretty well. Using double sided tape and some zip ties.

Installation was very easy. The LED's come with double sided tape and I wanted to mount the directly to the bottom of the top case, but as you can see it has a waffle pattern and I was afraid there wouldn't be enough surface area to maintain a good mount.
Only real work was running wiring from the brake light up through the engine compartment and then out the back seat. I also have brake light modulators so the LED's are setup to turn on and stay solid while the main brake light flashes. As for the color - it's definitely red. In fact the LED's are a lot brighter and deeper in color then the main light (which is what I wanted for safety). |

Here is my scooter. I went a bit overboard with LED's to accent the chrome at night. I also used a wireless remote to control them.

cfargo: That's really awesome. I've always wanted to do something like that on mine. At night, I'm sure it helps other people see you. It also looks dramatic.
When I was a teen, I had an old import car and installed light bars like that underneath my car. How difficult was it to install something like that? Did you use a commercially-available ground effects kit like for cars or did you wire everything yourself? |

I bought the LED light bars from Custom Dynamics. It took about $500 worth to do what you see on my scooter. Yes I wired every thing, with the strips it is quite easy. For the windshield I used windshield lights although I did have to do a little grinding with a big belt sander to make them fit best.
