Hello,

Could some one give me a hand ?
I was unable to kick start ET2 and noticed a gas leak. When I took a closer look, I found that the 1/2 inch vacuum hose, pictured here

http://picasaweb.google.com/kuehn.w/VespaET2?authkey=tPOO91cxWhI

was not connected on one side. I don't have a parts list or exploded diagram, so I am uncertain where that hose connects. Is there a missing connector or hose adaptor ? I believe that this loose hose is reason for my leak. Or is there something else ? Any suggestions, questions, or locations of exploded diagram locations would be appreciated.

THANKS !

Werner

if you're referring to the large hose that moves from the LH side of the picture to the RH side, and is attached to the head cowling... then don't worry about it. this is just a heat riser and you don't really need it.

if you're leaking fuel, most likely you've got a bad fuel line that has cracked at fuel tap, near the tank.

the other possibility is carb related. the float level is off or the bowl drain screw has loosened.

best,

Help in reconnecting vacuum hose on 2003 ET2
Thanks for the quick reply. Large hose rising from cowling does appear to be a heat riser, now that you mention it. When I took the rubber cover off (now shown in upper LH corner), I discovered large hose had been inserted into the rubber cover piece. This is why my first thought was that large hose needed to be re-connected. Your comments about carb related problems are good. (float level is off or bowl drain screw has loosened). What is best way to access carb ? I am still waiting for a Vespa manual I ordered to arrive. Do you know a weblink for ET2 exploded diagrams or service manuals ??

THANKS again..
