Anyone have a link for a dip stick option (or even a screw in temperature gauge) for Vespa/Piaggio S50 4T 4V? Would like to replace the OEM plasic stick with something better looking - I only need it for cosmetic reasons - i.e. - form and fit, not necessarily function. It's fun to dress up these little scoots to personalize them.

If you're looking just for cosmetics, I'd go with the $42 chrome before one of the fancy thermometer ones.

A thermometer on the dipstick is invisible when riding the scooter...but that's exactly when knowing the temperature is useful. Better to use the thermometer with the sensor that attaches to the spark plug base and has a wire that runs to a display that can be attached to the dash, or somewhere similarly visible.

It's a 4 stroke air-cooled 50cc engine. Why do you care about the oil temp? The money would be much better spent on an 80cc kit. Or beer.

I agree, temperature isn't particularly important for a stock air-cooled scooter running errands. But for 1% of the time on long trips or a kitted scooter, oil temp can be very interesting!

I don't have it installed on mine, but I do own one for head temperatures while puttering on small engines generally.
