I have a 2001 ET4 in excellent condition MINT color(lavender green), I love my bike it has 6,000 or so miles and I was thinking of getting a 2006 Lx150,

from reading the forum I have gather that ET4's are more reliable, have a little bit more power, I like the ET4 look better but a new bike is always a new bike!

I wish I had the money to get a GT or GTS but I cant afford them ati this time... that is why I have this dilema

What would you do? what do you think about the color Mint? the color is one of the reasons I am considering a new bike, I like the color "MINT" but sometimes I think is not manly enough!

thank you for your input, cheers

yep i totally agree. you will miss the ET4's agility. if you intend to get a GTS just save up for now until you have enough to buy one.

Keep it. If you upgrade, it should be for a larger engine, wheels, but not like for like, that's a waste of money IMHO.

I totally agree. If you want a new feel to your bike and you haven't done so already, customize the look. It may give you that new feel with out having to spend too much and then save for a real upgrade...

Screw what people think about the color. I ride a black ET4 and some of my friends question my manhood. Keep the ET4 get the bigger scoot down the road.

Curse all of you! I was mulling over the idea of selling/trading my ET4 and moving up to a GT200 or a BV250. Now you all have given me second thoughts. Bastages!

I think trading the ET4 for an LX150 is not going to gain you anything, really.

If I'm correct, they are essentially the same bikes mechanically, with some minor gear changes (in the final drive) etc.

If you are looking for better performance, get a GT200 or a GTS (or a Kymco, Yamaha, Honda Suzuki scooter for that matter). You're not likely to see much if any improvement performance wise between the LX150 and the ET4, just a different color and a different body style.

If it's the color, have it painted. It is expensive (but not as much as a new bike), and it'll feel new. 6000K isn't that many miles. I've got 7000 on my 2001 ET2, my husband has 17,000 (!) on the Scarabeo. I have no intention of selling the Vespa even to buy a new one. It serves my purpose. We did recently buy a used GTS to replace the Scarabeo because it was getting too unreliable. We're now a 3 scooter, one car family. I guess I would say if you find a used GT or GTS, buy it. They're not easy to find. You can always sell the ET4 because it's a great bike and there will always be new awesome scooters available from Vespa.

I'm with the keep it and maybe get a larger scooter later crowd! I already have a GTS and we just bought an ET4 because it's such a great little scooter. It's great for quick, zippy rides around town. I think you'll regret giving it up. And there's nothing wrong with mint green for a guy!

To be honest, if this really bothers you sell your scooter and get a Ducati or a Triumph.

The truth is, scooters will never be considered "manly" in the US of A regardless of color.*

But who cares? Enjoy the ride and don't sweat the small stuff!
