Ha... thx. Patience Ginch. Sometimes the trailerís better than the movie.

Almost there. Full pics next post (maybe).

Still need clutch plates and a seat, and have to figure out how to wire up the electrics. Got a late Sprint double yellow and green stator feeding the original GL harness and switch. So far Iíve only gotten the horn and the brake light to work. Still working on the rest.

The horncast and that silver are sooo good together. Those angled horncasts are a favorite. Dig that mucho

So there you go. Muchas gracias amigos, could not have done it without you all.

That seat on there is an old cheapie I had laying around the garage. Got a nicer one on back order from Scooter Center.

Havenít taken it out for a romp yet. Still needs some clutch work. Still fiddling with electrics too. Fires up and sounds good though. Put a stockish P style muff on it for now. The Pinasco should make decent power, but not expecting it to be the racer at the front of the pack. More of a Luxo Quiet Cruiser.

Many thanks to all who helped and followed along with this project. Special thanks to my GL brother poidog and MJ Rally for use of multiple tools.

Now need to make room in the garage.

Pure class SCG!

I'm curious if you're going to fit a spare tire carrier eg. behind the legshield, on the spine ala GS style or on the tail that mounts around the rear brake light?

The GL has nice lines and it looks perfect as is but for practical purposes I would always run a spare.

Your hard work shines through! Congrats 8)

Gracious that is a sweet diving save.
I just hope you plan to send a link to the original owner - or at least a pic!
He wont believe it.
Look forward to being seen riding next to that.

F'ing amazing, man. Great job.

The helmet hook is reversed in the before and after photos. Which is correct? The latter, I presume.

Wow. The outpouring of good vibes is heartwarming and appreciated.

Once again, donít look too closely, it has many flaws. The important thing is it survived and lives again.

Took it for a little spin up and down the street yesterday, and except for a clanky clutch, feels solid and smooth.

gmontag: good eye. I did reverse the helmet hook. Seems to fit either way. The upper pic is how it came to me and might be factory correct. Iíve seen it both ways.

mr.j: yep, spare tireís a must. Thinking behind the legshield.

Langolson & GeekLion: glad you like the color. It was a royal PITA to spray, fought me every step of the way. Actually a little surprised it turned out as well as it did. Metallic, multiple coats, outdoors on a cramped patio in the blazing summer heat was a challenge.

charlieman: yep, the guy who sold it to me might like to see it. He suggested parting it out. He was glad to get it out of his yard.

Thanks again all, and Happy Thanksgiving!

I leave for awhile and come back to see this. That scoot is amazing! You made those lines flow soo nice with that color. My scoots look like garbage trucks in comparison. Anyone that can take that pile you started with into something that fantastic deserves unstinted kudos. Congrats!

Thx Jeff, the Silver Sledís running great. Frameís solid, suspension feels good, rolls quietly and smoothly on new bearings & K80ís. Engine seems to be making decent power, but still breaking it in, havenít really opened it up yet.

Clutch was noisy and grabby but fixed that with a thicker spacer washer. Have a 20T cog on it, which shortens the ratios quite a bit for a little extra quickness.

All in all, really enjoying it.

It looks 'remanufactured', not merely restored. Your penchant for original parts and attention to the smallest detail makes all the difference,

What's next? May I suggest you consider a nice subtle upgrade that you might just like? NO IRREVERSIBLE changes either! I'll even send you the corks!
