Hey all, I'm a new 06 GTS owner, love the bike but have one small gripe. The turn signal is silent and only occasionally works on the left side. To me this is a safety issue as I am constantly looking at the indicator to see if it's on (no audible indicator). Am going to have it checked out at 600 mile service. Otherwise, this bike ROCKS!

Welcome to MV.
The failing indicator is not one I am familiar with though I do recall taking a little while to get used to the Vespa indicator switch. Sometimes I failed to set it going correctly witha positive click to the left or right. Definitely get a beeper. They are easy to install and I could not live without mine. Besides riding along forgetting to cancel your indicator can be a dangerous thing to do. Good luck and enjoy the forum. Boulty |

Look in the projects section for the Audicator (or some-such name) -- a fairly easy-to-install mod that beeps when your turn signal is on, with the added feature that it doesn't beep if you're squeezing a brake lever (like when you're sitting in the left-turn-lane at a light).

Are there any alternatives to the "Beeper" for the turn signal mods. Say, for instance, a more traditional sounding "clicker"?

I am interjecting a thought here. I installed the turn signal beeper in my LX150, as outlined in the technical archives here. The instructions were dead on, even to the prices of the components at Radio Shack. The only change I made was to plug into the existing socket in the headset which eliminated cutting and soldering wires. Also, I put the buzzer in the headset instead of the leg shield.
The results were outstanding. Not only can I hear the signals perfectly, when I am turning at an intersection, other drivers look at me. Whether they are thinking "Look at that asshole on his toy motorcycle trying to attract attention" doesn't matter. They have focused on my presence and are aware that I am turning. To me, that is a huge safety benefit. Even if I could turn the buzzer off while stopped, I wouldn't. I want everyone around me to be aware of my intentions, not just immediately when I release the brake and start to move. Call me paranoid if you like. I can and will live with that. |

Same exact thing happened to me when I brought home my 06 GT. I would go to turn left and midway through the turn look down and realize my blinker was never on. It was a very nerve racking thing, always checking and wondering if it was on or not. I took it in and they seemed to know what was causing it. After my 600 mile service, my blinker was like new again. But now, funny you mention, just yesterday I was noticing how it doesn't have that "click" in it anymore. It goes on, but there's no reassurance in your thumb cause you don't feel the click it makes.
