....hello there everyone!!!

....i am new on the forum and in the scooters world ....just got a worn out vespa et2 ....beaten up badly...no problem took it up, to my studio (10 flights)..into pieces....engine and body w/the front fork attached to it separately after I had striped it off of every thing that can b removed....after a month of work on it and turning my studio in to a scooter repair shop , reshaped the tin- with filler, repainted the places fixed, cleaned the motor the carb' ,both tanks-oil gas,and every part that was taken off -plastics- changed transmission belt, brake pads - front /rear- all light bulbs, battery, speedomeeter cable, sparkplug - nkg-....new repsol syntethic 2t oil, agip automatic transmission fluid, agip brake fluid...also glued the front/rear fenders.....well did more than that but that's a short basics I did list ....any way put everyting together in 7 hr....the results r decent; happy with it ..it looks even older - the new paint did that , started at first kick ran a bit high - released a bit the gas cable,- now is running fine, got speed and is very responsive to commands engine /brakes...but is smoking too much I think! ...white smoke that is...is it a problem????? ..if yes, any input would be of great help , any kind of help -tips and tricks- in regards to this model-

cheers, luca ....

What kind of test ride can you do on the 10th floor?

Yes, check the rings. How many miles were on it?

he was kidding about the rings, unless you were too. On a two stroke you get smoke normally and the rings don't work the same way as in a 4 stroke.

The only problem with too much smoke is that you could be getting too much oil in the mix and end up fouling plugs often. I'm not sure if the ET2 oil pump is adjustable but it could be dumping too much in. Also, different kinds of oil can smoke more or less. Ipone makes a nice low smoke oil.

....thanks guys...
....oil REPSOL 2T full synthetic....flushed the tanks cause there's allways crap on the bottom of them- at least in the gas tank, about the oil tank I had no idea what oil was in it, so I put my own...just to b sure.

....a bit smoky is all right then, well I 'll check mixture % somehow...loosen up the oil pump cable see how that works....

cheers, luca

All two strokes seem to spit an unusually large amount of white smoke if they have sat without running for a while. They get excess oil and build-up that needs to burn off. If it's still smoking after a few minutes of running, then address the issue. If this is the case, it most likely has an oil buildup or is getting too much oil. Also make sure you are running full synthetic two-stroke oil, and not the gas station stuff which will always smoke.
