The quiet streets of downtown Toronto from in front of my office. Had to drop in to pick up a few cheques as some clients still prefer to pay that way over direct deposit.

Took a ride to get away from the burbs:
Left when I heard an argument between a wanna be camper (camp site closed due to Covid-19) and a ranger - got in front of their camper headed back home.

I used to love driving out there by myself when I was an undergrad at ASU. I'd park my car, get out, and just wander out into the desert until I found a place to sit and just "be." It was by far one of the most peaceful memories I have from that time... 8)

Looks like a beautiful spot with some fun hiking.

Did you ride all the way to Tortilla flats? Best bit of road in the Phoenix metro.

There are many hiking trails through these mountains many trail fronts not just in the "Lost Dutchman's State Park; perfect weather now.

I have ridden to Tortilla Flats with the wife once but have driven several times, once drove all the way to Roosevelt Dam, Globe and back down the 60. As you must already know the asphalt's stops at Tortilla Flat's so I haven't taken the scooter beyond there.

There's gold in the Superstitions, gold I say. Lots of men, and women too, have gone up into the Superstitions looking for the Lost Dutchman mine. Some of them died trying, too.

But there are lots of trails around the Superstitions. I've only hiked the First Water and Peralta trails, and not near all of either.

The Apache Trail to Roosevelt Lake is a great drive, but it's been closed at Tortilla Flat for over a year. The road washed out.

I went out for a 3 hour BMW ride today. It was gorgeous!!

I love the views of the hills from this road. This is the southern-most point of the Santa Cruz Mountains that runs along the coast from San Francisco to almost Monterey. I was in Watsonville where the red dot is (see map below). Unfortunately, there's really no good place to stop and get a picture. Last week, the hills were green from a late spring rain. Today they have tinges of green in the grasses which will be golden yellow next week. The trees will stay green all year. I've done this road so many times, I don't see the power lines or agricultural tents anymore, just the hills.

And there's some great riding in those hills. There's a ridge road called Summit Rd that starts about 15 miles north of this spot and runs about 70 miles, stopping about 20 miles short of San Francisco. Its a very popular tourist destination for many activities, including scootering and motorcycling, often too fast. I have an errand to do in Palo Alto on Thursday and will ride the Summit Road up and back. I'll post some pics of that too.

Santa Cruz is a great place to visit, and fabulous place to live. Miguel

Nothing exciting but a view from the sidecar and a shot of the city near my condo. My friend and employee shot this yesterday as we headed back to my place from an errand.

Yes, nothing says riding a Ural like being passed on the expressway... plus it was his first time as a passenger and didn't want to freak him out

Can I have partial credit? I walked out of the office Tuesday and this little guy was standing next to my scooter hauler ('13 Nissan Frontier KC). Of all the days to not ride to work, but I had a bike to move after work...

Do you see those much? And was there a Coyote anywhere near by? Standing next to that tall building I would have been looking up for a big rock to be falling.
