Changing out a carb on that bike is QUITE easy - just make sure that you torque down the two carburator bolts EVENLY and TO TORQUE SPECS!
Carbs are made of really soft metal and they can warp quite readily if you overtighten or tighten just one side and not the other.
Refer to the red haynes manual for the right torque specs ( i'd quote them but the book is at home )

Eric's right again!
Mate, Make sure you have the split washer and flat washer on each of your sleeve nuts. Just like eric said EVENLY. The Torque settings are ( 11.57-14.47 lbf ft )
As per Haynes.
It is very easy to change your carb, if you need help PM me and i will talk you through it mate.
Welcome to MV
Cheers
Thanks guys! I do have the Haynes Manual...but not much (hell, any!) mechanical experience so I may need a word or two! LOL But determined
not to be one of those girls who can't fix her own damn scoot! so I will learn--figured this should be an easy enough way to get over my fear!

There are quite a few people living in the middle of nowhere like you. Fresno and Bakersfield has tons of scooterists.
Mark your calender for next years Hedonism in Bakersfield. April usually.
I'd love to check out Hedonism! My brother-in-law is big into scooters, has been since his highschool days (some of you along the coast or in San Fran may know him...he's a popular sort of guy! LOL) and I know he mentioned it last year to me but I was in the midst of moving and hadn't really had the scooter out much...
