I have a question about the Vespa Helmet I just recieved on-line, and before you all blast me about buying a helmet without trying it on or buying a used helmet, I just want an answer from people that already own one of these, I know overpriced, should have bought this one, its cheaper/safer.

now the question,
My helmet is the white/pearl blue with blue leather trim. Its a medium and does not fit at all! I currently own a diffrent brand helmet, and when I tried on all the other helmet brands at the store I was always a medium. This Vespa helmet seems to not have any foam padding on the inside making this medium helmet fit like a large. There is just no soft padding to coddle your head. This vespa helmet is just like fabric covering up the hard styrafoam interior, its so not comfortable and way to large to be a medium? is it missing the soft padding?

I think Spock might be able to help you. The Stock Vespa Helmet is one of his favorites...

Oh Eric also. I think Eric has two of them.

For sure Napa Coach has one but I think his is aqua.

Greasy125 had one but gave it to TheOZ the last time he was in San Francisco...

Vespa helmets are one size off.
I wear a small in a Nolan and a extra-small in a Vespa.
All helmets fit different.

Sorry the helmet doesn't fit. You may have to chock it up as a learning experience and visit a dealer to try on some that do. It has been said before, but helmet sizes vary amongst manufacturers. Even the same manufacturer will have variation in sizes (a medium in one style may not fit the same as a medium in a different style).

The best choice would be to put the Vespa helmet away and buy one that fits. Otherwise, what's the point? A poorly fitting helmet wouldn't help too much when needed.

No missing padding, just not the right size. But at least you'll be able to put it right back up for sale and someone *will* buy it. And at the price you bought it for you probably won't lose much, if any, money.

thanks for the reply. its definatly not the right size. and for anyone in the future, I would say that a medium is not the average size.

I just think those "Kazoo" helmets look ridiculous! Remember Kazoo on the Flintstones? What were they thinking? Do you think they thought it'd be a good way for people to notice you? Safety thing? That big ole head bobbing down the road!

Personally, my heads like a weeble wooble now. I don't need no stinkin helmet making it look bigger. Throw it on ebay and dump that thing.

This thread makes me glad my dealer didn't stock Vespa helmets or Vespa riding gear when I bought my LX. I am afraid I would have been caught in the suction of matching everything.

Awww... wear what you like, man. Don't let me tell you what's cool and what's not.

But in regard to the stella folks calling you kids Weenies, the matching accessorized vespa fan-boy outfits certainly don't help your case

I do love that helmet, for various reasons. Too bad every possible variation of, "you got the wrong size", or "you got ripped off" has already been discussed.

I'm wondering if size is the problem here, or quality of construction?
Just fabric over hard styrofoam? -And what does this lid cost?
