It is remarkable ... also as an advertising vehicle, I must admit that the other nature of the Vespa is also made to function as an object from the post-nuclear disaster era; Mad Max with the Vespa.
Bravo and well interpreted.

PS: the wheel rims are too bright, make it opaque or painted in a "hammered" color like the medical machinery of the 1950s.

Can you tell us anything about the paint job or what you have done (if this bike is indeed this rusted as it looks) to preserve it?

Making a new scoot look old - usually it does not work, but I think you nailed it and it looks great. My 2 cents - lose the chrome, it detracts from the rest of the wonderful job you did.

Hi yes the paint was really easy I just brush coated it with a product called Rusty paint ,they have a website. then you sand it back,and spray it with an activator.The green is again just brushed on enamel that i mixed iron filings with, sanded down and activated again.For the textured rust , just make a paste with paint and the filings, and stick it on.Rusty paint supply everything you need. Just mess about with it.

Bitza was an MV member from the UK that focused on bikes of an older era. He died in the last year having made about 17K posts. He was character with an unusual writing style from Yorkshire. There's lot of commentary about Bitza if you care to read about him.

Fran, You did a really nice job on the GTV. I've always maintained that the GTV was the most vintage looking of all the modern Vespa but would look better without the digital clock and the chrome. I like what you did with the seat, pillion footpads, taillight, dash and paint. Thanks for the tips on the rusty paint products. Never heard of them before. Bravo

It's a brilliant looking scoot!Somewhat steampunk and retro-mod. LOVED the touch about the gas extension. What did you do to the storage compartment?

Bitza was a dyed in the wool northen scooter rider who had a couple of really well prepared T5's.

He typed like he spoke which was often difficult for some to comprehend but like the gobshite he was he never compromised and he never apologised.

I loved the guy and I miss him terribly.

He died last year after a long and drawn out battle with cancer and his passing marked a turning point in this this forum.

That's who Bitza was.

Meanwhile this is a great thread about a wicked cool bike. It is indeed a GTV which is a variant of the GTS platform. All mechanics are the same, the fender light and headset separate the two style wise.

I would love to ride that bike all over town.

Well not a clue what you see, but I don't. He replied to me, that it was indeed a GTV and made a comment on the scooter. Didn't know we had to reply to every comment made and in order

Why not add a quote to his reply then in order to keep continuity? It followed on the heals of Bill's reply regarding Bitza. It was bad form to start of with "meanwhile ..." as to disrespect the previous post speaking of a past member who has passed on.

I'm open to being taught how to master this forum and you are correct I should of quoted that, my bad and duly noted.

Accusing me of blatant negative activity is inaccurate and hyper sensitive. I did nothing but pay respect to the OP and talk about the subject at hand.

Bitza is a top 3 member all time and I have tremendous respect for him. He will he discussed for years to come.
