I have a 66 Sprint project that is near the end. Currently working out of town, but placing my last (I hope) order with Scooter Mercato and need to order jets for the following set up: Pinasco 177 two port cast iron kit with 20/20 carb. I thought I would go with a 55/160 idle, 112 main, Be3 mixer and 160 air. Does this sound right? The kit is dead stock, installed with the provided base gasket. Average elevation is 750' asl. The only mods I did were to chamfer the ports some. Thanks for all suggestions, I'm dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to tuning. Hopefully I can get it somewhat sorted when I get back in 2 weeks.

Are you adding an exhaust with it as well?

I should have included that . I installed a SR box type exhaust that was sitting on the shelf in my garage from a past project. Scooter Mercato sells it and it a copy of the SIP road. I also drilled out the heart in the air filter.

Tierney - I like your initial jetting. Academically, the BE3 goes well with the 160 air and the 160 is the same for both the main stack and slow idle jet. The 112 main may be slightly high but it is a good place to start. Your performance and spark plug will tell you when you reach the engine's "sweet spot." A fine tuning of the idle mixture screw may also be needed. I am sure, with patience, you will get it tuned to get the best performance possible. Good luck.

I looked on Scooterlounge and it showed the stock main jet for a Sprint 150 at 102. I'd add 4 points for the exhaust, 2 for the air filter drilling and minimum 12 for the kit. So maybe 120 and a 122? If thats way high you'll be safe, as its better to favor being rich on the break in. Being rich for the break in will also buy you some time to put together another jet order if you are too high. The same cant be said if youre too lean.

Like RB said, plug chops or a CHT can make sure youre in the sweet spot.
