Ps maybe have a look at your float needle and see if your float is leaking, both of those would make this worse

At last! I got out for the First Ride of the Season with six other guys yesterday for a 50 mile run around one of our local lakes. It sure felt good to get out on two wheels again! Temperature in the low 70s and (almost) no mechanical problems so it was a great day!
All we need now is a name for our group. I suggested Vespa Appreciation Group... Inspiring, Nobel, Adventurous but we have a couple of Lambrettas in our group so that won't work. Spermy is the second blue scooter. ![]()

Funny, I was just thinking of this scooter and contemplating the creative process that inspired the PO to paint a gazillion little spermy worms all over a Vespa.

Yes orwell84, the Original Owner was an "artist" in San Francisco... which probably explains a lot.

Now I'm blowing headlights.
When I got Spermy, only the high beam worked so I replaced it with a new bulb and soon blew the low beam on that one as well. I recently replaced the stock bulb with a halogen bulb and blew the low beam in just a few miles and then blew the high beam a few miles after that. I'm woefully ignorant when it comes to electronics but I'm guessing that the headlight got too much voltage and that would be because the voltage regulator is faulty. Does that sound reasonable or could it be something else? Should I replace it with the Vespa regulator that Scooter Mercado sells or is there another option? I've head that some people add a second regulator ahead of the headlight switch. Is that a realistic option? |

It looks like I have two yellow wires coming from the stator on Red Rover. I think I have only one yellow wire coming from Blue Spermy but I'll have to check
