A random found out i worked on Vespas and brought this doozie to me. The metal at the 6 o'clock position is worn which allows a metal tang on the tumbler to wobble in and out. Since the tumbler isn't holding, it spins which doesn't always engage the fork lock which then doesn't engage the ignition switch.

Does anyone have any ideas how to make it work with what we have currently? Or a way to get to that metal without dropping the fork? I'm thinking a little JB weld.

Any thoughts? Thanks guys.

my only thoughts are that JB weld would not last a long time there.

i would look to drop the forks and weld a new tube in place

You can always buy a replacement part but it will require some welding...

Piaggio part code is 259420...

Just wanted to say I did the JB weld route. I threw painters tape where I could to help keep things clean and focused. 3 layers of JB weld later I let it cure and then shaped it with a dremel tool. Everything slid back together and its off to its owners for an easy life. We'll see how long it will last.

Add JB Weld to the tumbler, so it fits the body
