jess wrote: Absolutely. But I've always thought that it's okay if tags are sometimes in closer proximity to some than to others, as long as the location moves around somewhat. A tag might be out of someone's easy reach, but closer to someone else. There's nothing wrong with that. The tags were split up in order to focus them on specific population center (not that North / East Bay is much of a population center, scooter-wise) but the side effect of that is that each tag has a smaller number of people looking at it and following it. Granted I was against the original idea of splitting the the BA tag into sections b/c it would get more of us riding to other parts of the BA. (Why else get 250s?) It almost seemed like "keep away" between teams for SF, NB, EB, and SJ as it was those who have been riding and part of MV longer. As we have more newbies, it does make more sense. As for the latest NB/EB tag, I'm sure I've seen it somewhere but can't put my finger on it. Hence, I'd need more of a concrete idea of WHERE it was before I could start searching (Google and otherwise). |

The reason I was for splitting the Bay Area up is that even if I knew where a location was, I didn't want take a half day to travel down to SJ only to find it posted by the time I got back to my PC. There are a lot more riders in that area and it stayed down there far too long for someone impatient like me.
With three different threads going in the Bay Area, plus Sacramento, it gives riders several chances to play, instead of having to wait weeks or even months. ⚠️ Last edited by Cricket on UTC; edited 1 time

One thing I've noticed on the tags is that people tend to choose obscure locations, which causes many of us to scratch our heads and say "well I have no clue where that is, so maybe I'll go for the next one."

The south bay scooter tag thread also has some pretty obscure spots. Heck one of them was even a pic of a poster's house!
Seems to just be a "thread culture" thing to me. |

As for Mike's house, we were only taking hints from the SF/Bay Area crew. We're all jackasses and have been riding together long enough to have recognized where each person resides. Let's face it - these tags are meant to be fun. No given time-frame for when they are to end. People have been bending the rules left and right. And to try and "compete" to "win" is ludicrous - you're not getting a trophy anytime soon, so let it go. In the immortal words of Josh Rogers, "Shut-up and scoot!" 8) See you on the road! |

I thought Mike's house was hilarious and I've never met the guy. He sure hates him some rabbits tho
We just seem to have more fun in our South Bay thread. Not sure why but that's our culture. I'm lucky enought to work in Berkely and live In Fremont (did I just say I'm lucky to live in Fremont?!?) so I get to play in both threads. My wife also loves to go get 'em. Then sense of purpose and fun makes her like to ride more. Otherwise she can be a real nervous Nelly. |

Ok - this is a last-gasp effort to keep this thread from dying like the afore-mentioned fish.
It's a restaurant parking lot. |

I agree with cricket about the reasons for splitting the areas up. I would rarely/never be able to find some of the south bay or SF tags
I also don't have a problem if it doesn't get tagged instantly. we're all pretty busy, and sometimes just can't get there. so? I know where this one is but haven't had a free chunk of time to go get it, as it would take almost 2 hours rt, and on some busy sts/highways at commute time and i don't like that kind of riding. |

sorry you didn't make the napa ride. napa and sonoma totals: 22 woo hoo! after you post your pic then you can post a pic of somewhere else for somebody to tag. here's the original tag post and rules, which we follow loosely, different boundaries of course https://modernvespa.com/forum/topic14665 |

hmm. not sure what to tell you to do.
usually when you post, you can scroll down to "add an attachment" and choose file. I have always transferred pics from my iPhoto to a different pic file and then just found it there. might be a better way but I had to do it that way in order to reduce pic size to post it. or I think if you have the url, you highlight it (in your post) and then click on IMG button above. or do a search for photo help. good luck! |

That was a fun ride. I figured there couldn't be that many abandoned glossaries, commissaries, fricassaries (?) around and had a ball riding round Mare Island. Didn't realize there were so many decrepit buildings there. I read on line that the commissary had been used for a fire-fighting exercise. Looked like it wasn't the only building used for that purpose.
Will post later today depending on the weather. Looks like we may be in for the first rain of the season (not counting yesterday's sprinkles). ⚠️ Last edited by Cricket on UTC; edited 1 time
