Hello, I know I should have a second key available but I do not.

Is there a way to open the seat on my Vespa GTS 300 without the key?

Thanks!

There are quicker and easier ways than that. Look in the wiki for threads about that using a wire to trip the latch at the end of the seat.

Hi Tor2ga, thanks for the tip, I am looking in the wiki, and I don't see the article for the GTS, only the LX. Is it the same process?

I see Locked my keys in the 150 LX Seat the seat seems to come down on the side so it is hard to get into it

The seat on a Vespa GTS only locks after locking the steering column.

So the only way to lock the keys under the seat is to lock the steering column with the seat open. Then remove the key from the ignition, put it in the pet carrier, then close the seat.

Seems a little weird to me.

Even with that, it is easy to unlatch the glove box and use the manual seat release. All you need is a screw driver and small hands.

Open up the left-hand 'knee pad' and with either a small hand or a long screwdriver (or something) you can release the latch as if the ignition barrel had been pushed in.

Reach up inside the left side panel, at the front above the variator, and you will find the electrical cable going to the lock actuator, and also the Bowden cable from the glovebox lever going to the actuator. You can easily feel which is which. If you give a yank on the bowden cable the saddle will unlock. It is a bit tight - if you are using your left hand, you might want to remove your watch first.

This doesn't work on the new HPE models.
