Steelbytes, Thank you for the info. I contacted an Arrow vendor and I asked them the same question on what mid pipe I would need, If any. They were going to have the tech call me back Monday Morning. I attached a screenshot showing the 2 mid pipe options.
Both of those are wrong for an American Vespa as that page is showing the Euro5 options. I suggest you see the Euro4 link i gave.

What steelbytes says.

It's up to you whether you wish to comply with environmental regulations or not.

The upper collector is needed if you want to use a catalytic converter. The lower can not be used with a cat.
Mind you, the cat cartridge alone is somewhere in the 150 to 200US$ region

Yep that is what I thought. Actually better to my advantage I am assuming to have a Euro 4.

Thank you Steelbytes and Tuinkabouter for all your insight.

Call me a Newbie, but this is ALOT different then my old Negrini- Moto Morini.

So if I am correct, I will need Arrow 53525A. (My Preference). Similar to Tuinkabouter Arrow 53525ANN + 53072MI.

So i had the TSR odyssey on my 300hpe for a while, after going back to the stock pipe due to the tsr being a little too loud and farty with both noise killers on, i do notice that with the tsr my scoot was popping wheelies almost unintenionally, now with the stock pipe you really have to have everything the timing right and lean back. The funny thing is it kind of felt sluggish with the TSR, but could it be there was added performance from that pipe, or would the weight save have such an effect?

Did you TSR have the catalytic?

the weight diff would affect handling; in particular how well the rear wheel would stick to the road as it goes over every small bump. Shouldn't really affect take off - wheelies.

my arrow exhaust was horrible until I fitted the catalyst. Or maybe I'd just fitted it poorly - air leak at either of the joins? - that design never made sense, why not use a gasket?

So horrible as in leaks, or did you notice something like poor performance? One would think the cat takes power away, unless this engine needs backpressure. The TSRs are not available with catalytic to my knowledge, but the noise killers make the passage of the gases very narrow momentarily, anyway i cannot figure out any other reason besides added power to the wheelies, too bad it was a thin metal can and the noise was really considerable, and it is a little too skinny thus exposes the bracket behind. Also couple of times it died when twisting the gas from a stop, something that will probably never happen with the stock pipe.

I did wrap the link pipe, they made it so that the oil filter can be changed, but that results in the pipe being very close to a water hose, probably no need to worry but wrapped it anyway.
The price is pretty unbeatable, who knows i might go back to it.

Been following this thread with interest as I want to change out the stock exhaust on my matte grey 2018 GTS SS.

I'm just in the process of removing all of the chrome and then intend to fit an exhaust.

The one thing for me that keeps getting overlooked is the connector pipe being finished in s/s or chrome - so wondered if anyone has any experience of this exhaust - the Scorpion serket full system in ceramic black?

I love the look, had a scorpion exhaust on my old GSXR-600SRAD back in the day, and happy to pay but before I do, are there any other options that are "all black"?

Many thanks in advance [/img]

Now that's a Dogs Dinner of an exhaust. Give me the Black Scorpion any day.

And I mean give it to me, I'm not paying for one as they are no-where near worth the money when they add no extra horsepower whatsoever.

I saw that in the SIP website this week when ordering some bits n bobs and thought it looked rather nice…

If you have the time and the inclination I'd appreciate your feedback on it - especially as it's de-catted. Interested in how it runs and what (if any) mods you have to make.

If you're UK, will it affect your MOT?

Thanks for the post!

It is a big problem, hence the "race only" in the description.

Anyone who rides around with a exhaust that's no only had the baffles removed but the catalytic converter also probably needs to look in the mirror and give themself a f***ing good talking too.

I noticed the price difference on the SIP website - £480 w/o cat & £610 with.

Whilst no expert I suspect that running w/o the cat will fail an MOT test, and also a UK requirement, so I'd be looking at the cat option - a shame from a cost perspective!

Thanks for the advice though

Good morning

Just wondered whether your exhaust has arrived yet?

I have one sat in my basked with SIP with my finger hovering over the "buy" button, and waiting to see how you feel about it once you have it in your hands!

I'd really like to know whether the exhaust bracket covers the majority of the silver swing arm, or whether the scooter in the picture has been fitted with a black swing arm - hoping for the former but suspect the latter!

Brilliant, thank you - that's a slightly different picture to the one I found, so my photo was clearly a black swing arm.

When are you planning the install?

EDIT: Sorry, hadn't seen your comment above the photo! Bummer that you've only received part of it, but if your weather is like mine, the scooter isn't going outside anytime soon anyway!

One thing I like about my Honda bikes are a quiet exhaust and the same applies to my latest Vespa.
Keep it standard. I hate noisy motorcycles of all types,
With electric bikes becoming the norm, time not to draw attention to us.

Yet again not a GTS exhaust but it does suit the engine mod

Yuck. If you go down, that thing poses an additional threat to get torn off or further damage the bike. It's also extremely pillion unfriendly, and poses a burn danger to anyone on the back. Overall, a crappy design for a Vespa.

I think that looking at those tyres, a pillion is the least of their worries!

But if you want a hooligan exhaust - and not for everyone - then that's bad ass!

So the new Remus Notte exhaust has just been delivered and I am planning on installing on Friday.

On taking the exhaust out of the box, I have noticed that the dB killer screw has been spot-welded in place!

Anyone ever come across this, or have an idea as to what I can do, as this strikes me as a properly stupid thing to do?

I've emailed Remus to ask the question and awaiting a response.

Thanks

Sh*t and f*ck - that was £620 NOT well spent!!!

Is it a simple job to have the weld removed so that I pull the dB killer out?

A good handed guy can do the job, but try first as it is, will be much better than the oem one👍

Well I'm stuck with it now, and looking at it in more detail, the screw doesn't even serve a purpose - removing it won't make a difference!

I'll fit it and try not to want to smack myself over the head with it each time I look at it!

Did yours arrive and if it did, have you fitted it?
