Hey guys,

My wife has been complaining regarding the rear shocks on the new HPE Vespa.
We live in Athens Greece and the downtown street are not in the best condition, they are full of potholes.
When I am riding solo, I don't really get bothered by them but when we are riding together she complains a lot and I can understand her.

Do you think if I upgrade to the Bitubo shocks that are offered from Piaggio, we will have less of a problem?

Stay safe
Thanks

That or invest in some ear plugs.

May also want to consider footpeg tenders. The position of the footpeg combined with the wide rear can make a passenger uncomfortable. Adding bad streets and you get an unhappy passenger. We don't ride two up very often but there is a noticeable improvement riding two up on the e scoot with the extenders vs the one without them in both passenger and rider comfort.

Noted

I will start with the extenders. You are right. I am finding my self bumping her legs when ever I come to a stop and put my feet down.

Before you do anything drastic have you tried changing the settings on the rear suspension? [/quote]

Agreed, I always crank the preload on the shocks to maximum when bringing the spousal unit along, and she's quite happy back there as a result. I believe thats even suggested in the owners manual.

Mind you, she didn't complain when we were travelling on a 1950s Triumph with a rigid frame... so perhaps she just has tougher buns.

I ordered some silver peg extenders and the tool to adjust the preload on the rear shocks. I am thinking to put it on 3 for start since I am a fairly heavy guy at 250 pounds~ 115kg.

While it won't affect her comfort enough to make a difference, you definitely want to make sure your rear tire is properly inflated for 2 people. I don't remember the exact PSI recommended for the GTS, but with you being a bigger guy anyway, you can err on the side of running higher pressures than lower.

My wife hates riding with me on the GTS. Not comfortable for her. Cowls are too wide and foot pegs too short. No complaints on Beverly.

We found the same.... footpeg extenders and Bitubo's have improved things tremendously.
