Help me please. I am in the middle of changing the front shock and one of the two bolts at the top is just turning when trying to undo the nut. These two bolts should located in between to ridges that stop them rotating but one just turns. Any advice as to how to hold the bolt in place whilst undoing the nut as I am trying to avoid taking the front forks out if possible. Thanks

You may get someone who can help if perhaps you were to share which model, year, etc.

Quality vise grips (attached in the correct direction).

Alternatively, if you mean the two bolts in the pot-metal bracket that is bolted to the front fork, can't you stick a flat-blade screw driver between the bolt head and the bracket?

+1 for yackee's response. Taking the fork out won't help.

I f you are having trouble accessing the bolts I think you can unscrew the fender and lift it up to create clearance
