I have two GTS300s, a 2015 blue and a 2018 white. The blue one has a silver speedo facia and the white one a black facia. I have almost finished blacking out all the chrome on my blue scooter, and would like to swap speedo facias.

Could I just swap speedos? Would that also swap odometer readings, or is that information stored in the ECU?

On the back of the instruments years ago they wrote the combination ratio between the front wheel and the analog instrument, check if there is a reference.
Alternatively, do a test together with another who has a Vespa with the same speedometer.

It's not the speed I'm worried about, but the odometer mileage reading. The white one has done 8804 km and the blue 28405 km. Will those readings stay the same if I swap speedos? As that is a digital reading, I expect the values are stored in the ECU.

Guess I will just have to try it.

OK, it was easier than I thought. The speedometer has two fascias, the rear one with all the numbers on and the front one that just says "Vespa". I just had to swap over the front fascias. Only lost one screw down into the body.

White scooter all re-assembled, but then my back told me it was time to quit. Finish bluey tomorrow.

Still waiting for some smoked indicators to finish the blackening job. Post is terrible these days with so few flights.
