I am amazed by all the motorcycle/scooters I meet on the road
that have filthy windscreens. Hey, even if the bike is sparkling,
the windscreen looks like someone has spent the last month picking
their nose and planting boogers on it.

So, we need a role call to determine if you keep a clean screen or are
among the bug/booger crowd. You know who you are!!!

I recommend Vingar Windex (does not chemically cloud the plastic screens).
I always keep the Windex on board with soft paper towels.

High Standards For a Clean Machine

Your windshield is so clean that it looks like the window behind you has a hole in the shape of the windshield...
And ... oh yes, having my scooter always clean at its best (windshield and transparent handguards included) is my favorite pastime, I also clean it in winter when I'm not using it.
You would be surprised to see how I got organized, I have several brushes with different shape and handle to get to clean in tight places, I also use a toothbrush and a brush for shaving. To dry different clothes, each dedicated to a different area.
When I go out with the scooter I use a small sprayer with a mixture of water and neutral soap (90% - 10%) in it to clean the windshield and helmet visor, mainly from insects.

I clean my windscreen and my helmet shield before every ride with Plexus and a microfiber cloth. Works great!

Ride a lot and you are going to have dirty windshield---dirty shield in proper look over height ok.----even makes it look like you ride a lot!

I find Lemon Pledge or Protect all works to clean with real cotton towel works.

End of long ride wet towel soaks bug off.

I don't clean mine everytime I ride, but when I do, I use Lemon Pledge and a microfiber cloth.

A 50/50 mix of vinegar and water, with a microfiber cloth. I use it on the windshield and the rest of the scoot. After a particularly buggy day, I'll go with wet soapy towel to lay across the windshield, followed up with a fresh water rinse I have a Laminar Lip on my windshield, so it sometimes takes a "shoe shine technique) to clean the bugs out of the area between.

I do my best to keep our scoots clean.

If you're all up to it I'll take some pictures tomorrow when the sun is out.

I clean everything with Simple Green Extreme, about once every two weeks.

The windshield, mirrors, paint, seat, and wheels all get cleaned at the same time. I don't bother cleaning anything more often than I wash the whole thing.

Except I clean the windscreen after every ride with warm water on a sponge and seal with a drop of 303 protectant. My windscreen looks almost new after 50K miles.

I am convinced that bug juice and UV destroy the clarity of a windscreen.

My windscreen is setup to sit below eye level. In other words, I look over it, not through it. This means I don't really notice bug splatter. I wipe the screen down if I'm really bored, but most often ignore it and just ride.

I clean my windscreen fairly often. Whatever product you use, allow it to dissolve the debris so you're not rubbing hard and potentially scratching the screen.

Invisible Glass with a microfiber works well to clean. Then I use F11 or Nexgen to polish - makes cleaning the bugs off much easier. Do this to my windscreen and faceshield.

I clean mine before every ride.

Personally, I'm not quite obsessive, but I do like to be able to see through them, and they get reasonably regular cleaning.

Wow, most of you keep the windscreen sparkling.

Also, you all realize you can not use a cleaner or spray that chemically
reacts with the plastic compound windscreen. Straight Windex will
cloud the screen over time. I use Vingar Windex on the road.

I did notice that the dirty screen crowd has not answered the role call.
It is like admitting that you do not change your underwear.

Ahhh... I'll try to do without a windshield.

Nevertheless, I can share a surprising finding with you: one can actually clean also the
inside of the visor of a full face helmet

I remembered this after wondering why my vision got more and more blurred, no matter how well I wiped the bugs off.. from the outside.

I take the face shield in the shower with me and wash both sides with soap and water as needed. I use Method hand soap, which is what happens to be in my bathroom, but is also pH-neutral as the visor desires.

On tour, it needed cleaning every day. In fact, I brought a little bottle of hand soap so I could give it an afternoon clean in a public bathroom before riding into the sunset. The bottle broke mid-tour, so I replaced it with one of the little hotel soaps. I quickly learned to be very careful about fragrance. I had never noticed any fragrance from the Method soap, but the hotel soap attacked my nose as soon as I closed my visor that day.

Usually clean windshields if installed and face shields on helmets about every ride.

Our cleaner of choice is Hydrogen Peroxide! Yep! the stuff from the drug store to clean cuts.

You'd be surprised at how most of the bugs foam up and wipe off easy with a clean terry cloth towel.

Been doing it on the 2011 GTV screen since 2011 and it is a clear as the day it was installed, same with faceshields.

Once in a while see the peroxide for sale real cheep so buy a few extra bottles of the store brand stuff. Just find an old Windex or other sprayer that fits the bottle and you're good to go!

Another day some more poop. I parked for 10 minutes at the Mercado Mexicano to get some special dough for empanadas a Bra (pasteis) and look what I came back to. One would think they would at least stop flying to pinch a loaf. But no, they do it in full flight.

Max, they won't have the guts to do that again.

Our posts do take on new subjects. I actually enjoy this.

Bart Maverick, in the cowboy TV series, always talked about what his "pappy use to say" Sort of a writers technique to inject wisdom and balance into the drama unfolding.

My pappy use to say, do not get emotional right away - listen to both sides of the story because there is some merit in both perspectives. The climate change/control topic is highly emotional, highly political, with good and bad science. Thus, probably not a good topic for this forum.

After following my pappy's advise, I find merit in both sides of the Climate Change Issue, but, can not join the "Chicken Little crowd that the sky is falling and the world is coming to an end soon".

So, keep those bugs off your windshield
