my et2 started and run fine, will with idling stalled out after engine warmed up. i took it off cleaned idle jet pin and everything, reconnected all hoses. it cranked but no start. i had trouble with the reinsert the throttle cable and the spring loaded back into the carb. it doesn't seem seated right, the spring and tube does not flush always into the carb, and i had trouble tightening the screw. wonder it that was the problem. a user here suggested i need to check on the float to see if got it in right, which i plan to do next. any more suggestion is appreciated.

If there's something that you don't think is put together correctly, start there. You don't want to get into ten hours of coming up with workarounds for a problem that can be solved by doing things right.

do you have a way to take a pic and post it here?

that might help...i wonder if your carb just isnt assembled correctly....sometimes when this happens to me, i just take it all apart and start over....

if it was working before, we can help you get it working again...

I have upgraded my ET2 carb, but i still have my stock one..we can compare it to yours if you ahve a pic...

It sounds like you didn't align the slide in correctly. They only go in one way. put it so the cutout goes toward the filter and align the slots with the pins in the carb. It takes fiddling to get it right. the slide should go all the way in.

you are correct. i finally slid that tube in correctly, before it stuck out with only screw secure it. so there was a gap there at the throttle inlet. after it was corrected, i cranked still didn't fire. doesn't look like i got any gas in the bowl. as said it started right before my cleaning the carb, so i didn't touch anything else other than those hoses connected at the carb. si what is next for me. i even sucked the vac cum hose to get the fuel flowing but no cigar.

if you are sucking on the vacuum and theres no fuel then your petcock might be bad....

does it start briefly if you spray carb cleaner into the airbox?

gas flow to carb?
Did you try kicking numerous times to get the gas flowing into the carb? Someone mentioned fuel petcock. I had to do all this recently on my 2002 ET2 project. Good Luck.
