I have a 2017 GTV 300IE (Portifino Green). I am looking to put a large windshield on it.

I have identified two options from ScooterWest. Namely the Vespa GTV Large Windshield by Plaggio (sku: GTV16P) and a Large Cuppini Windshield (sku: GTV16CP).

The Plaggio windshield mounts off of the handlebars and the Cuppini windshield mounts off of the mirrors. The Plaggio windshield is clear and the Cuppini has a big black V on it. The Plaggio windshield costs $449 and the Cuppini windshield costs $149. They are both about the same size with the Plaggio measuring 27.25 x 28 and the Cuppini measuring 27.5 x 29.5.

There are not a lot of windshield options for the GTV.

Does anyone have any experience with either one? Which one would you recommend?

I do not care so much about the price difference as I am interested in the fit and finish for either one.

Please advise me. Thank you.

Jim

I have the Cupini Mod Windscreen which I imagine is the same one. Good screen and the triangle is there to protect the instrument panel from direct sunlight. At least that is my understanding.

I like it, does a good job of taking the wind off your chest. You will still get helmet buffering but I've been on long rides at highway speeds and it's been fine.

The OEM.. meh not a fan but that comes down to personal preference. Many that have it choose to cut I down. It is BIG and can act as a bit of a sail if you are going to do a lot of higher speed riding. The other reason for cutting it down is to get the height to a point you can see over and not through the screen.

I like the look of the Cuppini as it is pretty minimalistic. Sorry not a great show of it from the back but should give you an idea.

This is a post I did 11 years ago on cutting down my GTV windscreen customized for my height while sitting on the bike. It worked great.

Here's another post I did 11 years ago about .
