A spell of almost record setting temperatures here in Northern New York State has enabled me to get back out almost a month after our first snowfall.
It won't seem much to folks in California or Texas but...

People seem to forget that California is almost 2/3rds of the West Coast (lower 48 ), starting just above latitude 32°n. and continuing all the way to 42°n. Elevations range from -282' to +14,494. I live in an area of the state that has a low elevation of 3,209 and a high of 8,343. It's definitely 4-season country, as is most of the state above the capital of Sacramento. Even the southern end California gets snow - that's where the highest spot in CA and all of the rest of the lower 48 is located - on Mount Whitney, just a couple hundred miles north of Los Angeles.

So, to me it's normal. I may have had my last ride on my Vespa a couple days ago until Spring. I'm hoping for a few short rides between now and then, but it might not happen. That would be normal around my part of California. I hope we both get some riding days in this Fall and Winter.

Three days ago the temps here were hitting 80° - then they plummeted by 20° on Friday. We even had rain! We had to hurriedly cover a small fig tree as it went down to 32° overnight last night - fff frost!

Even here in central Italy we have 69 ° F. but there is too much Covid and restrictions to take trips, too bad...

I have the same scoot - have you had to do any maintenance other than what's called out for periodic work and consumables in that 20k?

I finally got the fuel pump replaced this summer at no charge on the recall. I knew it was subject to the recall, but it never gave me any issues until this year. Brakes are still original. Belt and rollers replaced for the second time, along with valve adjustment, at the same time as the fuel pump. Muffler gasket has failed 2-3 times. I believe I'm on my fourth rear tire and third front. Two headlight bulbs, and of course, a few of the crappy side reflectors.

I'm south of you in Hyde Park but I took the scooter out yesterday too. It was great riding the local roads and just getting out. Hopefully not the last time either this season.

Same beautiful weather here. The bad part is I messed my foot up and am supposed to be in an air cast and off it. However.... my wife almost never leaves the house due to Covid-19 concerns so I said screw it and this Sunday we went for a ride. It's a heel shifter and I stayed off my feet except for walking to the bike. Awesome today as well and here I am stuck working at home.

lolol, we know OP meant "Hollywood." Let's not ruin the entire country's perception of our uhhmazing weather . Where "you" live doesn't represent most Californian's weather reality. "I" rode last week, and will continue to commute probably until January.

Yes there's snow up in the San Gabriel mountains this week, but snow up in 6000ft+ doesn't affect majority of us one iota.

Also, congrats on 20K mi, OP!!! I hope to hit that over the winter, whatever that means for us.

Ken, probably feels great to get in another ride. Maybe Bill will take me with him when comes up again. I really liked the Italian restaurant you took us to.

I got a covid discount on a new knee and had not ridden for over two months. Saturday I decided I was in good enough shape to go for a ride. It was a great feeling.

Woo Hoo! I rolled over 20K with Ken last Feb riding around FL. I should have taken a pic, LOL

You have to take advantage of the good weather when it happens. I like your dash... I traded a 2009 GTS 250 in on a 2020 GTS 300 HPE last month. I like everything about the new one, but I do miss the outside air temp and the RPM bars like what you have.

We live in southern Texas (the Tropical Tip), so riding is a year-round thing for us; but we used to live in western South Dakota and know that winter doldrums regarding rides. Enjoy it while it's good!
