Can anyone suggest the ideal exhaust and transfer durations for an old/reconditioned Scorpion pipe (JL lefthand-alike)? I'm thinking of using it in conjunction with an old style (but brand new) Malossi 210, 60mm crank and PHBH 30, for an old skool, low cost performance setup. Previous discussions have revealed that the old Malossi kit works well with either a 1.0mm or 1.5mm base packer, when used with a 60mm crank. This overcomes the insufficient transfer duration of this kit when on a 57mm crank. Does anyone know what port timings these packers would typically give with an unported Malossi cylinder?

Rotary BTW

One for me by the looks of it. 127/187 is about what I would do. Need to widen (52mm arc) and square off the exhaust port at the same time. Obviously cut the holes in the piston like usual. Rotary at least 130/65. Covert the exhaust to springs while your at it. Those old kits damage easy. Will go well. Not an MHR but plenty of fun.

Well what a surprise!! Cheers Jack. I've not pulled the donor engine apart yet, so in no position to do any kind of dry build and measurements. Hoping the rotary pad is good, but even if it's a bit below par, the enlargement of the inlet to your suggested spec. may just deal with that.

This will go in my '87 PX200e with a Disc front end. I had planned to put the MHR reed motor into this scoot, but I quite like it in the VBC, except when trying to stop quickly
