I hate sitting on a hot black seat
A cover is easier than a recover
Here's how I do it
Wet the skin
Stretch & clamp skin around seat, dry overnight

I have a shoe patcher, I have done other covers with a regular home sewing machine, hand sewing minor repairs
I used the mounting point of the chrome trim to keep the cord down

the only modification to the seat is a couple of notches in the seatpan at the base of the hindge
On other scooters I have sandwiched the cover under the hinge where it bolts to the seat pan
same with the rubber bumpers on the other end

Seat open view
Finished closed view
The seat latch still works fine
The wool does touch body work, but not any of the webbing, skin or rope

Removing the seat
remove pet carrier, battery box doesn't need to be removed
Remove a small bit of body work [4 screws]
Remove e clip & pin

I'm very pleased with how comfortable it is
Questions welcom

Our two Liberty's are my 4th & 5th sheepskin
These are the 1st time I got the hide wet, which made the fitting much easier
I could probably stick an airhawk under the cover
On the one I made for our chinese 150, I added a foam pad cut out of 2 layers of a kitchen mat, I tapered the edge to smooth a very noticeable seam
The seam on the Liberty seats is mitigated by the 2" of wool

I'm impressed. I am a devotee of sheepskin seat covers. I purchase mine from Alaska Buttpad as I lack the creativity to make my own. Definitely increases the comfort level for extended rides.

I do remember running into the site
How well do the straps work?

Seemed like I was going to have iron out the details, anyway, so I bought a discounted [$20] fullsized pelt [red] & figured how to keep it in place on a burgman

I thought for a moment about going into the seatcover business, it would have to cost $200 or so to be worth my time
Anyone who would pay that sort of price, would be picky, further reducing the upsides

They are nice until rained on or ridden in the rain...unless you like a wet butt.

Works fine. The shape of the pad as well as the straps hold the pad on the seat quite well. I've used one on an MP3, a BV350, an Aprilia SC, a GTS, and a Buddy Kick. If it looks like serious rain (something I try to avoid when on a scooter), the pad comes off in seconds, or can be protected with a CoolAss or other waterproof cover.
