I posted this in the general discussion section but I thought I'd ask you guys too.

I saw this on Reddit. The guy that has it is looking for a value and I think he wants to sell it.

I'm interested but I don't know if it's in my price range.

It 31 inches double sided porcelain enamel on steel.

I'm not sure of the condition of the other side but I'm guessing it's similar.

Any opinions?

Thanks

That's a tough call...

If it's really enamel over steel then it is probably the real deal. So, it'd be pretty spendy I'd guess.

.. and I don't really have a good frame of reference... Lot's of factors - How bad does seller need the scratch, how eager-beaver is the buyer(s)?
An enamel Lambretta sign I watched on Ebay ages ago went for over $1000.00
(larger size than that Vespa sign though.)

I was shocked, but then when you think about, those signs are rarer in number than the scoots.

YMMV

PS- I've seen "aged" steel repops for a few hundred bucks.

Ive watched nearly every 'American Pickers' so that makes me an armchair expert on these matters. There were two statements in the previous sentence only one of which was true.
Id guess $300-$500

And the American pickers will "sell" it for $1000 to make $500 in profit.

Meanwhile they got a warehouse full of "sold" junk that paid way to much for .

That sign is cool though, and i think your price is good for that size.

He said he was offered $1900 for it but hasn't decided if he wants to take that.

Oof. I guess that's out of my price range.

Ironically, sign might be worth $1900 to someone who doesn't actually service Vespas...

This sign and the language it conveys is somewhat misleading.

'Servizio"
service, duty, serve, report, service charge, office

So unless you actually own a Vespa shop you would be hard-pressed to display it in your garage.

"La manutenzione"

Is what you do in your garage.
