This could get me on a modern scooter. Granted probably way out of my price range.

Interesting. The BMW C Evolution is IMHO easily the best electric scoot out there or for that matter electric motorbike. When BMW sets it's mind on something they generally do a good job and that includes the Motorrad division. No secret I like BMW bikes but they really seem to have it right so far. An electric motorbike should be able to perform as well or better than others in it's class. Piaggio so far has produced less than stellar performance or back for your buck. Nothing so far I'd even think of taking on a highway.

"A scooter is not a 'fun bike' which is taken for ride in the mountains in fine weather, but a practical everyday vehicle for driving from home to the office or meeting friends in the evening - simply a vehicle for every day in the city," says Alexander Buckan, who heads BMW's Motorrad division, in a statement.
Don't tell me what a scooter is, or isn't, Herr Buckan! By your definition, I cannot use it to meet friends during the day. WHY WHY WHY

man that is HOT. But seeing how expensive Zeros are right now, surely a CE04 would be at least $15K?
with gas only $3/gal and scooters getting 60mpg, one'd have to ride that Electric scoot say... 100K to make the money back in gas savings? |

Am I the only one who doesn't see much appealing about that scooter? Yeah, it's nice to see the environmentally friendly aspect, but the aesthetics and the ergonomics are utterly lacking, in my opinion.

dont know about the electrics as I havent ridden the electric version BMW. I like the look of this new concept. but that can always change when concept reaches production and changes get made. I for one would like to see BMW stick it out in the scooter market.
a friend and I test rode both the 400 and the 650 models. we both loved the 650 for a highway duty bike were disappointed in lack of zip below 60mph. it does not scoot around well city wise. both of us raved about the 400. all around fabulous scooter. cant wait till used ones come to earth on price. I am up in the air on the whole electric thing. love my electric yard tools. but that is mostly about ICE motors not starting and needing service every season practically. electrics are the future. but I think ten years before I own one. they just arent a viable alternative yet in the USA. no presence at all really. |

The BMW 400 is a great scoot and may hold high resale for a while. My 650 sold for a good chunk of change. FWIW the guys I know at BMW consider the 650 a "step through motorcycle" and the 400 a scooter. They don't want people thinking the 650 is a beginners bike but some still buy it when they are new to riding . I've said this before here that my insurance on the K1600 is less than it was for the C650. |

I beg to differ

Obviously this guy has never ridden a BV350. I like the concept of an electric scooter, with the batteries low in the footboards to keep the CG low, and nearly all of the space where a normal IC engine resides available for storage. But I'm not fond of anything that says "Hey, look at me!". And this thing screams it. On the other hand, the Lego kit for it will require few nonstandard blocks. |

RRider wrote: They do have budget friendly versions too Genoa, woman on a scooter overwhelmed and killed by a truck. Tragedy in Genoa. At nine in the morning, in via Monticelli, a 34-year-old woman was hit by a truck. Her death happened on the spot. On the dynamics of the accident, which still remains to be clarified, the agents of the accident section of the local police investigate. The young woman, according to what has been reconstructed, was traveling on a scooter towards the city center. You would have hit the back of the truck, at the intersection of Corso Sardegna and Via Monticelli, at the height of the Deutshe Bank. She wore a helmet. The policemen collected the testimony of a pensioner who allegedly saw the accident. Note: she died crushed by the wheels of the truck which did not brake immediately. |

The point is that if special tracks for bicycles and pedestrians are required you cannot go on normal roads with an electric mono skate ...
It is too invisible and fragile, there should be a limit to vehicles that are too small but only for the safety of those who drive them. |

Full electric. 42 hp max. 80 mile range. 75mph max speed (digitally limited) https://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/en/models/urban_mobility/ce04.html This thing would go well in the bed of a cyber truck. Ha! |

Even though that's my ride to work, I can hardly recognize the streets and buildings in the ride video. The future sure is strange.

I kinda like it. kinda. I dig that it doesn’t have the sport-bike-wannabe look, that they actually tried to be different in a vaguely-futuristic-sci-fi kind of way.
That said, it feels a little bulky to me -- wider than maybe it needs to be? I dunno. It’s got a unique look, but at the same time it seems just a little off. |

I want to live out my 80s sci fi robocop fantasies with it, but maybe have to wait a few generations for some styling and performance evolutions. The same 80s sci fi attraction i have for this is also present in the cyber truck. I know they are fugly but something in me seriously wants a cyber truck! |

you gotta give credit to bmw. they are on their second formidable electric scooter while other major manufactures struggle with producing a first.
and its evolving nicely. has about same performance as c-evolution and: it weighs 100 pounds less and the weight is lower range increased by 20. and almost 2k less list price bravo bmw |
