Where are you located? What is the availability of dealer/support in your area?
Those may influence the choice. |

Personally, I prefer the A/R, I find it more "original" as a classic modern scooter, but it would be very useful to me hearing some opinions... In addition, as an artist, for me the aesthetic factor is more important than convenience... ⚠️ Last edited by Oldscooterman on UTC; edited 1 time

I love me a lammie but these now w ones are not the Lambretta I used to ride. OK probably more reliable buy still... On a classic scooter design the less Tupperware the better. |

I would also suggest the GTS. I have owned several scoots, and the ride of the Modern Vespa is far above the competitors.

On a classic scooter design the less Tupperware the better. Once you put plastic parts on something that is trying to emulate the look of a classic Lambretta or Vespa it just cheapens it. That is just my opinion and your milage may vary. FWIW I do like that RA is metal but it just seems like a copy and I'd be happier if say RA was what Lambretta did. The build quality I'd also not be sure about. |

Are we talking about aesthetics here, or are we talking about the preferred choice as a working scooter? As a scooter, the mechanical design, performance, and reliability of the Vespa GTS makes it the easy choice. (appearance is a matter of personal opinion)

Choice of a Scooter
OLd Scoot,
You made me have to think "Marathon, Attica?", oh ya, Greece. The folks on this forum are pretty objective. However, this is a Vespa forum. I have had a Vespa GTS300 Super for five years and love it. Classic Italian looks with enough get up and go to tackle express ways. Bob Copeland Minnesota USA |

I would go GTS 300. There is a good reason it has not changed much over the years. Vespa got it right. It will feel much more stable to ride compared to your PX.

Ps I was wanting some art for my garage wall. As an artist yourself what do you think of these fine quality paintings? They have royal in the name so they must be good. https://www.royal-painting.com/Vincent-Van-Gogh/Vincent-Van-Gogh-oil-paintings.html |

This however is a Vespa site and post the same question in a Lambretta or RA forum and the replies may very well be different. |

I believe Royal Alloys is pressed steel similar to Scomadi (sic) but what engines RA and Lambretta use I do not know.

I am reading the various opinions and I agree on one thing, if you can buy a brand that is an expression of originality; Vespa yes, Lambretta only the name, Royal Alloy good yes but there is only one similarity, RA ... mmmmff ... at this point Triumph is better but more expensive but then we went from scooter to motorcycle, another theme with different comparisons .
Here I am an intruder (like others) but always with a passion for scooters, I don't have a Vespa because the asphalt in my area is suicidal but the dealer is a friend and sometimes gives me one as an advertising vehicle (I go to rallies of scooters) but, like all the choices of this world, everyone has their own tastes and finally it's up to him to choose. Best wishes for the choice ... whatever it is. PS: "Improving style means improving thinking." (Friedrich Nietzsche) |

Excellent Paintings
Old Scooot,
You really have mastered the technique. I am very impressed. I know this is a scooter forum, but, perhaps you could post a few more of your art works. Bob Copeland |

Bob Copeland This is another artwork (Inks, Pencils and Watercolors), inspired from Ancient Greek Toys that ancient children played, it has to do with some kind of...Ancient Scooter (hahaha), and I'm really happy to post it here!
