Over in projects there's a great thread on adding a beeper to your turn signal circuit. I did this for my '06 GTS and works great.

I'd like to do the same thing on my newer '18 GTS but would like to have the buzzer not do it's thing when the brakes are applied. This is probably as simple as tapping into the ground in the right location in the brake lamp circuit.

Would anyone happen to know if one of the miniswitch wires on either brake lever would suffice for this ground? There's a white wire and a white/black wire. It would be so much easier to tap one of these than run a wire back to the taillight.

If I could make heads or tails of the wiring diagram I could probably figure this out but it's all italian to me

Thanks!

*If* the '18 GTS has incandescent brake light bulbs, then tap into the White/Black wire on either brake switch. The bulbs act as a ground when they're off, as they're such low resistance compared to the buzzer/whatever.

However, if they're LEDs you might have to provide a bypass resistor to them, to emulate the 'off' resistance of the previous model's bulbs.

Turning Off the Turn Signal
voodooskin,

I am not technical enough to wire an auditory devise.

To make sure I cancel the turn signal, I practiced mentally to turn it
off as I was in the process of turning. Surprisingly, it worked for me.

Good luck.

Thanks Jimc and Bob!

Of course I have an aftermarket LED taillight, why would anything be easy? Thanks for that awesome extra bit of advice, I'll probably just run it to a normal ground and call it good. The beeping is not that annoying.

Bob: I cannot train myself to cancel the signal 100%. I cannot tell you how many times I'm on the road, look down and guess what? Yep, turn indicator. I really don't want to have some motorist assume I'm turning when I'm not. Dangerous enough when I'm predictable

All the best and appreciate the valuable input!

I used this one.
I converted my turn signals to Euro spec (keeping incandescent bulbs) and merely swapped the relay to this one from Scooterwest:

I am pleased with the results and can definitely hear the "click".
