I have a 1980 P200 motor that I'm planning to put into a 63 GL. The motor came with a 20/20 carburetor.
I also have a 24/24 carb laying around that I could use.
My question is whether the bigger carb will make a difference.

Believe the European ones came with 24/24 stock and US ones switched to 20/20 for local emissions standards.

24/24 for the win.

Also... Look at SIP/Scooter Mercato for a kick start lever that wont hit your GL cowl like the P200 lever will.

Since the motor is apart, I would have gotten the vbb kickstart and related gear. SiIP also sells a 60psi or 100psi front shock for a little bit more cash that would help with the diving of the fork. With the 24/24 carb, its prob better to open and flow the inlet on the motor and carb box, too. A rally fan cover is also a good add to make the motor look like it came with the bike.

Great project and good luck!
