Hi all,

I'm just about to work on a new malossi 210/px200 engine and came across this information I'd never seen before from SIP regarding if you use a 60mm long stroke crank... that you need to file the piston skirt...

Has anyone does this?

Attached a screen shot

That was the case with the old kits / pistons. The new black / Vertex pistons don't have this problem anymore...

I have had both types of pistons and cylinders and never looked into modding any of the 2... a 2016 sport and a 2018 sport...

But the one I'm thinking of using is the malossi 210 asso piston, pre-vertex version modded by worb5 with bigger transfer ports...

Was thinking if it needed shortening?

Yes, the Asso will need shortening. I had one and it was touching the cases at BDC...

So here is it side by side...

Will be planning on using the worb5 on the right side.

Touching is it the slightest touch? I had a asso on my first engine and I didn't shorten that one... rode it for 3-4000kms, didn't notice anything :/
