Looking to buy a Vespa Elettrica 70kmh (as soon as they restart driving / riding lessons and tests in the U.K. - currently all banned due to the covid lockdown!)

I've seen that the motor and battery are maintenance free, but that the hub/gear oil needs to be changed.

They recommend this first at 600 miles, but then there's no mention of what happens after this.

How often does the gear / hub oil need to be changed (according to Vespa), and how much would a dealer roughly charge for this? - I'm guessing this is an easy DIY, but I'd rather have the paperwork should I ever sell the Vespa.

Also, is it difficult to find a helmet that fits under the seat, or do most open faced helmets work?

On the LX the hub oil is at first service and thereafter every 24,000km. I assume the electrica is similar.

It's fairly trivial, involves unscrewing the dipstick and the drain bolt, refilling.

The servicing is relatively inexpensive , as per any other Vespa scooter . What you will have to take into account is that only Elettrica registered dealers will touch the scooter . Which means that if you live further away from one of them then than the scooters range it becomes a problem . I live in Manchester and my nearest Elettrica dealership is in Sheffield to get my scooter serviced required me to trailer the scooter to get it done ( or ride it over with a four hour stop to recharge) .

Many thanks for the replies.

24,000 km intervals sound great!

That's interesting about elettrica dealers - I'll check that out with the place I'm planning to buy from (in Brighton, U.K.)

Grazie for the welcome!

Awesome, thanks!

Can I assume that as they say they are a main dealer, that they will work on the elettrica? (I'll double check this with them as well)

Take your own helmet to the dealership or try one of theirs to see if it fits. Lets us know.

The 600 mile service appears to the most expensive. Mine cost $90 a month or so ago at a high end Vespa dealer.
