Never say never.

Was sent this set of cases from a fellow board member for repair. Cases were rough as the day is long; ate up to be exact. Must have been bonded to them as replacement cases were a no-go. sometimes history is worth keeping.

TIG welded and machined for your pleasure. enjoy.

Insane skill and work! Can't believe that was rescued.

Any idea what ate away at the cases? looks like they ran through a puddle of acid.

Nothing but full on respect for that kind of work. Respect to the owner as well for going that way instead of putting a new junk LML in it like most would do.

The sparkly cleanness of the cases is almost as remarkable as the welding. How do you get them so spotless? Vapor blast?

Jonathan - that is some crazy good stuff.
I assume you used 90% argon, 10% air from Indianapolis Motor Speedway to get those results?

What kinda settings do you use on your TIG to create that kinda magic without pretzeling the cases?!

Stunning.
