100/8 sounds far better... we use km/h, so 60 just isn't that exciting.
BTW; how does one request membership in this club? (When it runs) Speedy uses digital speedo('s, as there are usually 2 coz I had a spare) & easily gets 60/100 on 8", with 70/112+ being achieved whenever possible, however, once I've worked out that once it gets to 73/118 it's probably time to stop looking at the speedo & look at where I'm going, so I've never seen anything above that except on the Dyno where it got 82/132 before I buttoned off (& still pushing 10hp)... all on 8", coz 10" is less agile (& boring) |

Rad! Great pics.
We make membership on your honor.... with one requirement. Post up a GPS screen grab from your mobile device. If you have already done so in another thread just post the thread link. That simple. The exact requirement for membership in the 60/8s (or the 96/20's.... Kmh/cm) is below: Quote: 1. Did you pilot a Vespa with 8" wheels? 2. Was it Ludicrous? (Ludicrous = exceeding 60mph on those 8 inch wheels) 3. Did you post GPS verification? |

Well on my first ride with 8" wheels and I blew right past that 60mph achievement and took out the 70mph one too
Wasn't even near full throttle either. Scary fast.

Well...it happened.
Somewhere between 56 & 59 the pure terror turned into a peaceful zen. And then I was scared again. 60 plus on a stock geared 3 speed Sears catalog Vespa. Honestly fairly proud...where's my damn sticker? In addition to that I'm swapping my gearing asap. I wanted to know if I could do it, but it doesn't need to happen at 1 million rpm.

I think we also need a 70's on 8's sticker. Maybe it says "Go Plaider" and 70/8 Club and just make the color bold like a neon type setup?
I can't be the only GPS verified member, that can't be right. Anyone else out there?

You'll like the bike when the 177 happens.
I said very similar words after I brought the All State home. And can I make a recommendation...start with a long stroke crank. Especially if you don't wanna modify the Pinasco head. Do it. Go plaid. Join the club. Haha Also...look up the VMC Stelvio kit if you wanna get gnarly. sdjohn wrote: That's great. I have my VBB project awaiting assembly and I built the 2 port engine stock but if I like the bike, the 177 will happen.

NSR, but I just realized that the Honda Motocompo is an 8" bike, for those who want some serious next-level plaid-ness.

From experience I'd say mine was at roughly 1 million rpm.

Just barely made it today. Sixty on the nose.
Rear wheel cotter pin? Check. Tire pressure? Ditto. Then, I snuck onto a local highway connector for a mile and a half run. Finally got those revs up enough to push past a small headwind before the red light at the intersection. GPS speedo app is Speedometer Simple:

Does that app show a history in addition to the max speed? Would be good to find an app that plots your speed over the ride. Any suggestions?
