Hello,

I have a Yourban 300ie LT 2013. I am looking to fit a top box.

I can get a top box from a 500ie LT (2012), and the plastic base plate.

What do I need to use this box with my Yourban? It seems I need a luggage rack on to which the base plate can fit on?

Or am i barking up the wrong tree, and I need to get an altogether different rack and box?

Any advise and instructions would be much appreciated.

AFAIK, the Yourban and MP3 uses different box and base.

Is it just the box dimensions that differ (for safety, say) or something to do with the fixing?

I guess another angle of exploration is, would a rack, and / or top box from another piaggio model like the Fly or Beverly work with the Yourban ?

I realize the Yourban and Mp3 have different tail-box mounting systems, but the basic idea is the same. You dont have to go branded to get a top-box.

The mounting braket it came with didn't fit my Mp3 but it wasn't an issue. I made a cardboard template for the four bolt-holes where a mounting bracket would normally go. Then I used the template to drill straight through the cheap ABS-plastic of the top-box so it lines up with and matches properly. With the addition some some store-bought metric bolts n nuts and a bit of ingenuity with brackets its on solid.

Its been about 2 years and 9,000 miles later I have had zero issues. No plastic cracking, no leaks, good sturdy mounting with no wobbles. Its big enough to hold my mid-size full-face helmet (with intercom mounted) and gloves. Super handy.

Only downside is that I cannot easily remove it but thats never been an issue. Just make sure that when you put the bolts through the plastic you do not over tighten it. The plastic must be under some tension but not enough to really warp it or put pressure on it.

Yes I don't mind buying a cheaper generic alternative. Where I am at a loss is as to what the top box should bolt on to.

I guess I need a tail frame/rack which I need to bolt the base plate (or the box as you did ) which I do not have. And they are as rare as hen's teeth.

Hence the question as to whether another model's luggage rack would fit.

If you want to go generic, pretty sure SHAD or Givi sell a kit made for the Yourban.

FWIW, SHAD is the OE supplier to Piaggio (minus the Piaggio price hike)
