With the big snowfall in Oklahoma this week, I decided to see how well the Tuktuk handled snow and cold temps. We had 6 or so inches in our neighborhood and it was 3 degrees Fahrenheit when I pulled out. The Tuktuk fired right up and was ready to go. A lot of the roads were kinda beaten down, so some smooth and some fresh. Only problems I had were when 2 roads crossed, sometimes there was a weird drift from the tracks and when I hit those in 3rd gear I had trouble plowing through. I did get stuck once in a deep drift, and when pushing I broke the zip ties that were holding the windshield on. Newsflash, zip ties are pretty trash at 0 degrees...
So there ya go, the Bajaj Rickshaw is a decent snow vehicle, and they are light enough to push out easily if they get stuck. The rear engine keeps the weight on the back tires, and I think a passenger in the back seat would have really helped the traction. The only downside is they are open to the breeze and COLD!!!!!
