Had to modify the new Polini manifold since the only one that exists and works with a PK engine - V50 frame combo is for a 30mm carb. We will be using a CP24. Cut the inlet, made a new smaller one on the lathe and pressed it in. Will have it welded by my machinist. Lucky me, I had an aluminum spacer tube from a GSX-R rear wheel that was exactly the dimension I needed. So, I didn't "waste" time on turning and drilling a solid chunk...

well, I'm certainly curious to see how all the motor parts turn out - though I suspect the answer is - very nicely.
Welding job on the manifold is the real deal. Very nice. |

While waiting for the paint, I started preparing a few things. Since we're going 12V, along with the cases, I also got a PK flywheel which was a bit "rusted" and heavy. I first hit it with a cheapo sandblasting gun I have, then turned it down to 1821g from the 2100g it was and also lapped it to the crank...
More to come... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Love this. Could be very cool. Are you going to polish the clutch cover or other single components in aluminum to let them stand out? Looking forward to the outcome.
