"The new Pixar cardboard is Made in Italy, or rather Made in Liguria. The splendor of the Cinque Terre is in fact the backdrop to Luca, the last highly anticipated work of the Californian production house and the first ever to be set in Italy. It will be released next summer, and tells a story of magic, secrets and friendship between two kids on the Ligurian Riviera. A special place for the director of the film, the fifty-year-old Enrico Casarosa, Genoese by birth but for thirty years in the US, and former storyboard artist for Cars, Ratatouille and Up.
In the cover interview on "Friday" on February 19, Casarosa reveals to Angelo Carotenuto how Luca's story is inspired by his summers as a child in the Cinque Terre: "A world that lies between the earth and the sea. The perfect world ยป. But a world that must be protected, too: put in the spotlight will certainly attract new tourism, but you will have to be vigilant so that it is sustainable tourism and not distort the small harsh paradise told by Paola Zanuttini in her reportage that completes the cover story ."
