I did it. I sold my beloved 2003 Stella. I have had it since new, 18 years. I also sold my Kymco X250. For the first time since 1995 I am without a Scooter. Crying or Very sad emoticon

All according to my evil plan. Sell everything to buy 1 good new scooter. This Marble is getting too old to push around Maxi Scooters and I no longer have the time, money and space to tinker around. I don't have my own garage to store projects indefinitely anymore.

Vespa to the rescue. I am getting a great deal on 2019 Vespa Primavera 150. While not perfect, it only has 800 miles on it. It is also almost 200 pounds lighter than the Kymco. It is also much easier to move around. Which speaks to that "old" stuff I was talking about.

They say all the time that the best scooter for you is the one that fits you and your riding style. This 150 fits. I was holding out for a 300, deals are few and far between on them and not as good as this Primavera. 8)

So soon I will be back in the Vespa fold. I am looking forward to having a more robust service and parts network. I am also looking forward to not needing it too much. I previously have had a ET4 150 and an 1964 Allstate.

Another important reason for this is my Scooter Club, The Hornets. For 21 years I have led the rides we take and that is hard to do when your scooters are always breaking down or waiting for parts.

Wish me luck!

This is a good place to come to for tips and information about Vespa accessories. Good luck and many miles to the new scooter.

I always wanted a Stella but never pull the trigger when one comes up. I have memories of being left stranded on a P200E that had a shoddy "restoration". If I got a Stella it would be a four stroke shifty. My wife hates the smell of 2-stroke and I'm getting tired of it as well. Congrats on the modern Vespa scooter! Post a picture of it!

The Stella has been without a doubt, the most dependable 2 wheeled thing I ever owned. I felt like I could ride it coast to coast.

I loved it dearly, but it has become more of a trophy than a form of transportation. Could I have spent the money fixing it back up? sure. At the end of the day (and my wallet) I would still be waiting for the next shoe to drop. I figured it was time to move on and get back to riding. To many rides have been missed by either waiting for Kymco parts or pining away for my Stella.

BTW, The Kymco 250 and my ET4 had the same exact top speed as the new Primavera, 65mph. So the bigger bike gave me more comfort and 200 pounds more to push in and out of my driveway. I broke down (belt broke) with the 420 pound Kymco last year and had to push off an exit ramp. That was the last straw. The Kymco was awesome but as it is getting older, it is getting more complicated and expensive to maintain.

Viva La Vespa. Pics as soon as I get it next month.

Be careful. If the important people in your life pick up on your opinions, they might just start planning for your stay in the Happy Acres Rest Home. You wrote, "as it is getting older, it is getting more complicated and expensive to maintain" and the it you wrote about could be you.
